Well known for his highly committed approach, the Lebanese director was invited by Dance On Ensemble to present his first ever choreographic work. Highly experienced dancers, veterans of major European companies, accepted Rabih Mroué’s challenge: to talk about the memories of their bodies, and also to dance those memories. Disjointing and re-assembling their bodies, they open themselves up without artifice, retracing their experiences to explore new meanings for their personal archives. An exploration of age and of creative continuity past and present, this piece full of wry humour makes us yearn to remember.
